Why Join Kiwanis?
KIWANIS IS A GLOBAL ORGANIZATION OF VOLUNTEERS DEDICATED TO CHANGING THE WORLD ONE CHILD AND COMMUNITY AT A TIME.
Our goals are very simple:
- To form enduring friendships, to render service and to build better communities
- To promote, adopt, and apply higher social, business, and professional standards
- To develop by example and actions, a more inelligent and sericeable citizenship
- To encourage goodwill, humor, and the Golden rule in all human relationships
- To provide through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render service, and to build better comunities
Our motto is very simple. "We build". Our club has serviced over sixty projects benefiting the youth, citizens, and the community. Several of our recently completed projects include:
- Art auction
- Sponsor of Boy Scout Troop 175 and Explorer Troop
- Children's Miracle network for Sparrow Hospital
- Tsunami relief donations going to Kiwanis International
- Senior Citizen Home maintenance projects in Meridian township
- Relay for Life, Crop walk, Cystic fibrosis, Special Olympics
- Golf outing for community needy
- Sponsor Odyssey travelogue series with Okemos Community Education
